WILDERNESS
noun - a wild and uncultivated region, as of forest or desert, uninhabited or inhabited only by wild animals; a tract of wasteland.
the above definition was the starting point for my ideas on where to photograph for my wilderness pictures. i had initially thought about going to the lake district, and had also contemplated going to one of the local landfill sites in Leyland near Preston but later decided to photograph the Northumberland coast.
i researched the area and came across the Farne Islands, daily boat trips were available to travel around the islands which are home to many different species of sea birds, they also have a large colony of Atlantic or Grey Seals.
below are some of the pictures i took whilst on the boat trip.
