LIBRARY VISIT
my intentions when visiting the library where to see if they had an archive of images, i wanted to try and collect some of the ones which i had seen in the book 'Darwen'. I had decided that i wanted to then try and show darwen as a then and now using the archival images along with my own
below are the images which i chose from a vast collection. on deciding which ones i wanted i spoke with the librarian Mary Painter and explained why i wished to use the photographs. she advised me that to get copy's of the photographs it would be £5 per image but with me having around 25 that was going to be rather expensive! she advised me that she would speak to a member of her team who may be able to authorise for the pictures to be taken away for use on my assignment. it was also necessary to contact Alan Holden who was also the copyright holder to a few of the images i had chosen.
after a few days Mary contacted me, the library were happy for me to take the photographs away to use but asked that as i was now not paying to use the images if i could give the library a copy of the work i produced for them to keep in the library for reference.
